Gwynnie Bee Review

I don't claim to be a fountain of fashion knowledge, but I have traveled the road of personal style discovery and I have realized that it's a road with no end. There's stops along the way where you pick up souvenirs of knowledge but it's really an on-going journey with no final destination.  I applaud anyone who also travels this path because it is not for the faint of heart. You make mistakes ... sometimes really hideous ones. You sometimes wonder how you ever went out into the world looking the way you did. You try, try again and try some more. But really, I've found the risk, time and effort all really do pay off when you can look in the mirror and feel like the reflection staring back at you is an honest reflection of your internal self.

When my friend Carrie of Ginger Lemon Girl fame shared with me that she was finally ready to get experimental with fashion and that a company called Gwynnie Bee was the catalyst, I just had to find out more!

She may deny this, but she has been fashion curious for some time now. Despite my offers to help her build a wardrobe and to play fashion critic, she has remained merely an on-looker and didn't join in on the journey. Until now, thanks to Gwynnie Bee.

Think of Gwynnie Bee as Netflix for clothes. You sign up for a certain number of clothing pieces, pay a fee based on that number, go through their inventory of clothes, add pieces you like to your virtual closet, they choose pieces to send you. You wear them, keep them as long as you like, send them back (and you don't need to wash them!), get a new piece, etc. They mostly specialize in plus size clothing but also carry some size Larges and Mediums. Their main goal isn't so much that you buy these pieces (though you can), it's more that you get to experiment. Since there's no commitment to a piece, you can try different patterns, colors or shapes. You can discover what works on you and what doesn't. You can figure out what styles you want to wear again and again and what types of pieces are only an occasional wear for you. You can get that trendy item, wear it a few times, then send it back without having to think if this piece is worth an investment. It's truly a non-committal, freeing fashion experience.

And, better yet, they have a free 30 day trial! So, it's totally risk-free to try out the system! I especially love that part and I couldn't resist!  I signed up and received my first 3 items this week.   I was so impressed with their packaging that I had to share.  It's not easy to impress me especially since I work for an awesome retailer who is so thoughtful with their designs and packaging.  But really, Gwynnie Bee is on par with upscale retailers.

The clothing arrives in a plain white box. Once you lift the lid, you are greeted with a simple and elegant envelope that just begs to be opened.

Once you do, you receive a thoughtful and personal note along with instructions.

Every piece of clothing comes beautifully wrapped - this is just like one of my favorite retail stores, Anthropologie. It's such a nice detail that lets you know the company cares about their products and presentation, makes you feel special and makes you forget that actually, this is a used piece of clothing.

And if that wasn't enough, each piece comes with a reminder of how to launder this piece should you need or decide to as well as a review card.

Overall, I have been impressed with this company. Their website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Their packaging is spot-on and I love the whole concept. My only compliant is that they don't carry a wider variety of sizes. I would love to see them expand and offer a full range! Hopefully with enough time and growth, they will!

If you're interested in checking this service out, please click here. In the interest of full disclosure, if you decide to sign up, I will receive one month free. Other than this sponsored link, I have not been compensated or paid for this review. I am sharing my experience simply because I really like this company and would love for them to get more business!
